Overview
In this online workshop we’ll introduce participants to the daily practice of meditation. We’ll explore the benefits of meditation and learn several different but equally effective forms of meditation for optimal health and wellness outcomes. Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years by many different cultures and people. You will learn techniques to relax, increase focus, let go of stress and develop your sense of intuition and inner guidance to make better, more holistic choices in your personal and professional life.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the session, participants will know how to:
- Describe what meditation is in basic terms
- Understand the origin of meditation as a spiritual practice.
- Identify at least 3 common benefits of a regular meditation practice.
- Practice 3 basic meditation techniques:
- Breath awareness
- Body scan
- Loving-kindness (or heart-centered) meditation
- Use simple strategies to handle common challenges (restlessness, racing thoughts, sleepiness).
- Create a realistic personal plan to continue meditating at home.

- Comfortable chairs or cushions, yoga mat/blankets if available
