Workshop Intention
To help participants understand how the mind works, how change actually happens, and how Hypnosis, NLP, and CBT each offer practical tools for rewiring unhelpful patterns and strengthening resilience.

- Understand the conscious vs subconscious mind
- Know the differences and overlaps between Hypnosis, NLP, and CBT
- Experience simple, safe practices from each modality
- Identify which modality resonates most for their personal growth
- Gain tools they can use immediately
90-Minute Workshop Flow
0–10 minutes | Welcome & Grounding
Theme: Safety, choice, and self-trust
- Warm welcome & facilitator introduction
- Brief overview of Joy of Resilience philosophy

- Group agreements:
- Participation is always optional

- Gentle self-awareness
Guided 2-minute grounding exercise
- Breath + body awareness
- Orienting to the present moment
10–25 minutes | How the Mind Creates Patterns
Theme: Awareness before change
Key Teaching Points:
- Conscious mind vs subconscious mind
- Why willpower alone often fails
- How habits, beliefs, and emotional responses are learned
- The role of safety and repetition

25–45 minutes | Hypnosis: Working with the Subconscious
Theme: Accessing inner resources
What Hypnosis Is:
- A natural, focused state of awareness
- Similar to daydreaming or deep absorption
- Collaborative and consent-based
What Hypnosis Is NOT:
- Mind control
- Losing awareness
- Giving up power
Experiential Exercise (10 minutes):
Gentle Hypnotic Visualization
- Relaxation
- Imagery of a calm, safe place
- Introducing a feeling of inner steadiness
Debrief Discussion:
- What did you notice?
- Emphasize: Everyone experiences hypnosis differently
45–65 minutes | NLP: Language, Beliefs & Mental Rewiring
Theme: Changing the story you tell yourself
Key Concepts:
- The brain responds to images, words, and emotions
- Thoughts create emotional states
- Small shifts create big change
NLP Techniques Introduced:
- Reframing (changing meaning)
- State awareness
- Anchoring positive states
Experiential Exercise (10 minutes):
Resource Anchor Practice
- Recall a time of confidence or calm
- Pair it with a simple physical anchor (e.g., pressing thumb & finger)
- Practice activating the state intentionally
Key Message:
You can learn to access supportive states on demand.
65–85 minutes | CBT: Thought Patterns & Emotional Resilience
Theme: Clarity, logic, and self-compassion
CBT Explained Simply:
- Thoughts → Feelings → Behaviors
- Not all thoughts are facts
- Challenging thoughts doesn’t mean suppressing emotions
Common Thinking Traps:
- All-or-nothing thinking
- Catastrophizing
- Mind-reading
Experiential Exercise (10 minutes):
Thought Softening Worksheet
- Identify a stressful thought
- Ask:
- Is this 100% true?
- What’s a more balanced thought?
Empowering Reframe:
“This thought is a habit — and habits can change.”
85–90 minutes | Integration & Closing
Theme: Choice and self-trust
- Brief comparison of all three modalities
- Emphasize how they work together, not in competition
- Reflection:
- Which approach felt most supportive today?
- Closing grounding breath
