Group Size: 6 to 20 participants
Learning Objectives
By the end of the session, participants will know how to:
- Describe what meditation is in basic terms
- Understand the origin of meditation as a spiritual practice.
- Identify at least 3 common benefits of a regular meditation practice.
- Practice 3 basic meditation techniques:
- Breath awareness
- Body scan
- Loving-kindness (or heart-centered) meditation
- Use simple strategies to handle common challenges (restlessness, racing thoughts, sleepiness).
- Create a realistic personal plan to continue meditating at home.
Required Materials
- Comfortable chairs or cushions, mats/blankets if available
